Woodland Wonderland

Aong the Cross Florida Greenway Trail

Good hiking is back at the Cross Florida Greenway Trail which runs by our our housing development. Summertime brings bugs, brush, and uncomfortably high temperatures for hiking, but now it is cool, the bugs are in hiding, and they mowed down the brush along the trail. I went over two and a half miles on it yesterday morning before returning home, and was delighted by sights and sounds of birds, but startled by the whoosh of a tom turkey flying out of one of the trees. Always a surprise awaiting on this woodland wonderland.

  1. There is nothing quite like seeing the wild creatures of the forest. Did you know Jim talks turkey? It’s true! I’ve heard it with my own earsl.
