Round Tower framed by ruins of St Peter’s and St Paul’s Cathedral
The Irish settlement of Glendalough was founded in the 6th century by St. Kevin. It functioned as a monastic community for centuries and is still revered as a priceless historic and cultural site. The Round Tower rises to nearly 100 feet height and is seen here framed in an opening in the remaining potions of St Peter’s and St. Paul’s Cathedral. Though plundered through the centuries by Vikings, English, and others and left in ruins, it remains a place of wonder.

We loved Ireland, the beauty and wonder of these places. We didn’t visit these ruins. For another time maybe.
