Venus, the bright point of light that was visible in the evening sky for so much of the year, has passed between earth and sun and now is arising in the twilight before dawn. It will dominate the morning sky for the remainder of the year.
Though it was named after the goddess of love and has been considered a sister planet to earth, it posesses a hellish atmosphere with a pressure of more than 90 times the atmospheric pressure of earth, and a surface temperature over 800 degrees Farenheit. Any lead on its surface would melt and gather into puddles.
Yet, it is still a beautiful and wonderous sight in the morning sky but like many earthly beauties, it is best admired at a distance.
