Stratus Clouds at Sunset

A passing cold front brought cooler, drier weather and a distincely autumn pattern to sunset sky. Gone are the fluffy cumulus, and in their place, thin layered stratus clouds caught the last light from the yesterday’s sun. For a time it will bring respite from the warm subtropical air and form a shield from passing hurricanes.

Warm temperatures will likely return again in a few days as the weather patterns bicker back and forth for dominence during the changing of the seasons, but for the time we will enjoy the cool, dryer air.
