To Air Is Human

Patio Doors Wide Open

After working out yesterday morning we decided to air out the house since the outside air was cool, lovely, and low in humidity. Great! We started opening doors and windows, but then stopped. Instead of the fresh, crisp air, the odor of burning garbage wafted through the portals. AAUUUGH! We quickly closed up the house, thankful that we had caught the odors before they had saturated the rooms.

About an hour later, I was outside for a time and noted that the pestulentual odors had vanished. We immediately opened the lanai doors and the windows, turned on the fans, and enjoyed the air freshening of our home. We kept our noses to the wind, but no further foul miasma sullied the senses.

Finally, we had to run errands so we closed all doors and windows to avoid any fumes that may have come from further fires or from exhaust-belching lawn mowers. On return to the fresly aired house I could only think: Ah, home, sweet home.
