Look, Leap, Leave

Titmouse at Birdfeeders

The titmouse landed atop the rod holding the birdfeeders and warily surveyed the surroundings before leaping off and plunging downward to a perch on the feeder. It quickly snatched a morsel and was gone before the camera could refocus and capture it on the feeder. The bird repeats this sequence many times daily, leaving little opportunity for predators to pounce before it darts back to the security of nearby bushes.
