I had thought that some silly bird had taken the time to shape a bunch of Spanish moss into a nest in the azalea bush right outside our window and then abandoned it. We had watched it for several days with high hopes but the nest remained empty. That is until last night! A female cardinal was sitting on it in a manner that looked like she had a clutch of eggs. I’m not sure why the cardinal would build a nest and let it set empty for days but now she has set up residence. The cardinal should feel right at home in the colorful floral setting. May she have a very happy home!
