Circus Monkey

Recognizing Reality

It can come as a shock to realize that a given situation actually is my concern, not somebody else’s. The monkey’s (or should I say chickens?) came to roost for me some time in the prior millennium when I was in my mid 30’s. After attending some meetings, I boarded an elevator that had mirror tiles bordering the ceiling and the upper walls, revealing the top of everyone’s head in full color.

Wow, I thought to myself, that guy’s hair over there is really getting thin. I moved just a little to see better who it was. Oh no! That guy with the bald spot was ME! Not only was it my circus, I WAS the monkey!
