Planely Small

Ultralight Airplane on Runway

Just before the exit to Costco in Wesley Chapel, Florida, is the runway of a local airport. I always look to see what sort of small airplanes are tied by the flight line. Once in a while a blue and yellow WWII era Stearman biplane makes its appearance. It’s a fascinating sight for an airplane enthusiast like me.

This time I took a photo of the airport since I was not driving and was surprised to see an ultralight aircraft on the runway in position for takeoff. It looks like a go-cart with a motor and wings and appears even smaller than the regular light planes on the apron. Fortunately, it is just large enough that most people would not be tempted to hit it with a fly swatter.
