Wandering Wonders

Plane and planets wandering through the morning twilight.

The two brightest spots on this photo are Jupiter (lower left of center) and Mars, which is to the right of the Pleiades (the Seven Sisters) near the central image. Jupiter lines up with the upper part of a sideways “V” that marks the head of Taurus, the bull. Like the Pleiades, this is also a star cluster and is known as the Hyades. Just below this “V”, the streaked light is a passing airplane, that photobombed the image much to my delight.

The planets slowly wander across the skies, and the photos help document their movements. In a few days their positions will have noticeably changed, and it will be fun to compare this with future photos. Just watching these wanderings adds to the wonder of the twilight skies.
