Full at Five

Full Rain Gauge This Morning

Hurricane Debby is passing northwest of us and dropping torrents of rain and since yesterday afternoon has filled our rain gauge at 5 inches. How much more we got, I really don’t know. While not getting the worst of it, we are expecting winds gusting over 30 MPH and 2-3 more inches of rain today. There is some local flooding in low-lying areas, though we are on high ground with nary a puddle in sight. Looks like our to-do list for today has become a don’t-do list, and I think we’ll just shelter at home. We’re really glad that last week we had tree trimmers remove a bunch of dead limbs from surrounding trees.
