Moments before the photo was taken, a robin was splashing and bathing in the water. Other robins joined the fray, then encircled the rim and began drinking. When its cold and dry outside, I guess the birdbath has to serve multiple purposes. However, the thought is a little unappealing to me, so a little while later I got the hose and replaced the old bath water with new.
