Fragrant Memories

Plum Blossoms

Plum blossoms along a driveway in Washington state brought back decades-old memories of childhood. Its fragrance reminded me of a group of wild plum trees growing along a gravel road that I rode my bicycle on the way to and from school in the Nebraska plains. The sweet smell signaled winter’s end as I rode by, thankful for spring’s arrival.
