While waiting to board a pontoon boat for a tour of Lake Dora and the Dora Canal in central Florida, we noticed these two whistling ducks by the shore. They were dark in color with bright pink bills and their calls sound much more like the whistle of a squeaky bathtub toy than the usual quack of a duck. So, as they dabble in the water, they were not only looking for food, they were wetting their whistles.
