Giant Tree Spider

“Spider” Lift for Tree Trimming

It is very tall and has legs like a spider, but it “eats” trees instead of bugs. It creeps into position on a narrow pair of tracks, spreads wide its four spider-like legs, and then proceeds to lift a sawyer into position by the doomed tree. Along the way, lower branches are lopped off with a chainsaw.

Then the trunk of the tree is cut off, section by section, accompanied by the loud buzzing of the saw follow by a tremendous, house-shaking THUD! This repeats again and again until none of the tree remains standing. Finally, the lift retracts back into position for transport, the eerie legs fold back against the body of the “spider,” and it slowly creeps away. Soon, both spider and tree are gone, leaving curious observers somewhat amazed.
