Morning Rendezvous

Venus (top right) and Jupiter (lower left) in the Morning Sky

Jupiter has recently burst onto the morning scene, gleaming by the trees, seemingly in pursuit of the lovely Venus at the top of the picture. Indeed, he will close the gap, and by August 12, 2025, they will form a tight pair in the morning twilight.

Alas, their encounter will be brief, and Jupiter will continue to climb higher in the sky while Venus hovers above the eastern horizon and then slowly starts to sink from view in the late autumn. In the meantime their travels will be a glorious sight to watch in the morning sky for weeks to come as the days shorten and the weather finally cools.
