Ups and Downs

The Estes Park Aerial Tramway took us 900 feet up Prospect Mountain and provided spectacular views along the way and at the top. A cement walkway wound around the store at the summit revealing a panorama of mountains high above the timberline. Longs Peak appeared majestically along the shoulder of Prospect Mountain and we lingered in wonder at the views.

On the return trip back down, a very kindly tram operator show us some videos he had taken on prior trips up and down the mountain. One showed a bobcat glaring at him from a crevice in the rocks, while another showed a large black bear lumbering along the hill.

We had a wonderful time, and I was quite proud of myself at the end. I had refrained from asking the tram operators when was the last time the cable broke.
