Mountains of Memories

Rocky Mountains From Stanley Hotel Grounds
Clouds Moving In

We enjoyed panoramic views of the mountains for the past 12 days, clear, crisp, and full of memories. The day before departure, clouds moved in and, ragged clouds hid the summit of Longs Peak though they did reveal the upper reaches of Mount Meeker. In a different direction, only one of the Twin Sisters was visible, its head rising above a cloud that it seemed to wear like a shawl.

Now, we have left this beautiful area to go home, not knowing if or when we may return. However, visions of our visit will remain like the cloud-shrouded mountains, appearing here and there, sometimes unexpectedly, as memories rising through the mists of time.
