A branch similar to the one suspended in the tree in the top photo crashed down onto our front yard a couple of days ago during a rainstorm. After being cut up, its remains filled one large trash container plus the bottom of the one in the lower picture. The single section at the top of the pile shown was 4 inches in diameter and weighed eight pounds.
We have tree trimmers coming to remove the rest of the “danglers” before they become dangers by falling to the ground as well. Needless to say, we avoid being under the trees when there is any wind, and keep an eye upward while working in the yard.
