“Is that an albino?” someone gasp as they pointed to this deer at Homosassa Springs. No, it is a “piebald” deer. It has dark eyes, nose, and spots on its otherwise white body due to a rare genetic mutation that also slightly changes some of its body proportions. It was not the least bit shy, either, and came over for a closer look at its admirers. Whether seeking attention or a treat, it was not bothered in the least by its unusual appearance, nor should we be.
