Homeboy

He waddled slowly out of the darkness of our neighbor’s yard around 8:25 pm one November night and onto our driveway where he sniffed about briefly. Apparently finding nothing of interest, he wandered around to the front of the house, sniffing and browsing along our sidewalk, then crossed the grass and disappeared into the shadows.

Bears are known to frequent in our neighborhood, which is located adjacent to the Cross Florida Greenway. Calls to animal control in the past have been met with admonitions that the bears lived here before we did, so we will have to learn to get along, and they offered advice on how to avoid conflicts. Well, let’s just hope that works!
