Unusually high temperatures in Wisconsin have given way to more seasonal weather after a cold front passed through that dropped some rain and chilled the air. Ripples in Time
Long before animals or plants roved or grew on land, gentle wavelets in a shallow sea rippled the sands along the shore. Over the eons heat and pressure turned the sands to stone, then fused it into quartzite.
