We put up two birdhouses in January, and while a couple of chickadees checked one of them out, none took up residence. Other creatures did, however. One of the houses had a nasty wasp nest, which may have been why the chickadees weren’t interested. The nest and attendant wasps were forcefully removed with the help of spray and a stick.
The other birdhouse contained this frog, which though much less unpleasant than the wasps, was none too pleased with my efforts to remove him from ”his” residence. Perhaps it has moved on to a new home, but then again maybe the little squatter marched right back to the birdhouse. I guess I will have to find out later.
