Surf at the End of the Road

The road on the south side of Tahiti Iti ends at Teahupo’o. Persons living beyond the end of the road commute to the road by boat, including school aged children. Waves break on the reef in the distance providing some of the most exciting and dangerous surf in the world that challenges the world’s greatest surfers. In 2024 it will be home to the summer Olympic surfing competition. I wish well for all the olympians who participate and may they all do so safely.
