Of Wings and Dreams

I cannot remember a time when airplanes weren’t a part of my life. My dad had learned to fly in 1929 and passed that passion on to his children. I had many dreams of planes I’d fly and places I go in them. Looking back, I was able to live more of those dreams than seemed likely at the time. I spent hundreds of hours in planes like the yellow Piper Cub, the lower photo posted above, as well as in homebuilt biplanes of various design.

Other dreams eluded me, such as owning and flying a Howard DGA, which is the plane in top photo above, Though some dreams regarding aircraft never came true, I have no regrets, for I was much better off for having dreamed.
