This mushroom seemed to be trying to blend in with the leaves until its white cap burst forth from beneath its brown veil whose tattered remnants resemble a starburst. A day or two later it was all gone, nothing left but the grass and leaves and the fungal filaments beneath the ground from which the “shroom” sprouted.
