Farewell Neverland

Once Upon a Treehouse

Once, kids played in the treehouse built in a large oak tree. A blue tarp kept off the rain while they imagined adventures high above the ground, safe from crocodiles, hooligans, and pirates, and out of range of parents and teachers. Summers and winters came and went, the toys began to disappear, the treehouse seemed to shrink as the kids grew larger, and the tarp became ragged and finally disappeared. Visits up the stairs to the structure became less and less frequent. Now the kids have grown, Tinker Bell has flown, and nature is slowly reclaiming its own.
