Intermittent rain showers raced by through out the afternoon casting rumbling thunder in all directions. The few scattered sunbeams that had appeared had been quickly chased away by the cumulus clouds. Finally, near dusk an opening appeared just long enough to reveal a sullen sun hovering over the horizon, seemingly embarrassed by the day’s goings on.
