

Inspiration and a great deal of perspiration turned this mined-out quarry into a glorious garden. Robert Butchart operated a limestone quarry just a few hundred feet away from his home and left an unsightly scar in the landscape when it was mined out.
His wife, Jenny, was not about to put up with that eyesore and began designing a garden and planting colorful flowers in the walls and floor of the quarry. Working diligently for months and years, with help from her husband’s employees she fashioned this floral wonder that is now more treasured than the mineral mined from this glorious site.

Very interesting. Did not know how Buchart Gardens came to be. We’ve never been there. Gotta put it on our bucket list.
