Bird Speculation on Solar Panels

A passing flock of birds, likely ibises, left their respects on a neighbor’s solar panels. It’s not the first time. The panels are on the east side of a steep roof so perform best during the morning hours; at least they would were they not in the shade of nearby trees at that time. By mid afternoon they are no longer in direct sunlight, so their peak performance is limited to just a couple of hours a day.

I think that successfully harnessing the sun for energy would be great, but all too often the attempts are severely flawed. The birds seem to agree.
