There were no birds near the feeder this particular morning, or so I thought. Then something fluttered down to the ground. A quick look with binoculars showed not one, but three goldfinches to the left of the white pole in the upper photo. Though barely visible in the top photo, the lower, cropped and fully enlarged version of it, reveals all three birds on the ground. They blend in so well that they are difficult to see, not only for me but for any predators that might be lurking as well.
