Going for Gold

Goldfinch at Feeder

They arrived around Christmas, little birds dull brown in color. They were distinguishable only by their wing markings. As spring begins to unfold, their colors are changing, and hints of the the gold colors, for which they are known, are appearing. In a couple more weeks they will have their full coat of yellow feathers and will be a sight more precious than gold.

PS: Happy Leap Day
