Hello Little Bro

Evening Crescent Moon May 12, 2024

Earth’s little brother was grinning in the evening sky two nights ago, and I just had to look at it through my telescope. Then it seemed that photos of it would be nice, so I held my iPhone camera to the eyepiece and got these shots of the southern moon. Craters, valleys, mountains and plains tell its history in full view for all to see, though learning to read that history can be challenging and continues to be a work in progress that I love to pursue.

On the other hand, though learning about the moon is fascinating for some, just the sight of it can be satisfying to anyone, regardless of interest. And there are many times that I just gaze at it and say half aloud: Hello little bro.
