The sea turtle in our living room seldom sees the sun except for a few weeks around the summer solstice. Now it gets to bask in the morning rays even as we enter the full summer swelter. The heat will last for a couple of months and then cooler temperatures will return. Indeed, the sun has already started its slow journey south towards autumn and by the end of August will begin to drag the temperatures back down with it.
