Crepuscular Jupiter

Jupiter Beaming in the Rays of the Rising Sun

The rising sun cast beams of light across the blue, morning sky. Shy Jupiter sat subdued in the middle ray just to right of center. These bright sunbeams are also known as crepuscular rays, a term that can securely cement any conversation squarely in the center Nerdsville. It comes from the Latin word, crepusculum, which means twilight. So why not just say “twilight rays?” I could, but why risk tarnishing my nerdly reputation.
