The strings were sprung and worn; time to replace them. They were loosened, then cut and removed. The fretboard was cleaned and treated as well as the rest of the wood. One by one, the new strings were attached and tightened. Finally they were treated with string conditioner, stretched and tuned, and retuned and… It will take a while before the new strings have fully stretched and will remain in tune. In the meantime it takes a lot of playing to get them stretched out. Can’t wait to get started!
