Dawn of Departure

Rising with the Sun
by Howard Eskildsen
The middle of the night The Sun hugs the horizon
Seems a strange time to arise As we leave the runway behind
To drive to the place And it seems hard to imagine
Where more than time flies That there was ever a time

From security to concourse When flight was but a daydream
Then onto a plane And most doubted we could
With the thrust of jet engines But a few must have believed
We rise upward again That someday
We surely would
