There’s not much to see outside most of our windows; they are shuttered. Right now winds are light and there is no rain, but soon the winds will pick up with the advancing storm with potential for tornados through 8 PM tonight. Strangely, the tornado risk will go down before the peak winds from Helene arrive just before midnight. We’re predicted to have 35-45 mph sustained winds with gusts around 60-70 mph at times.
All is prepared here, and as noted, the windows are shuttered. There are lots of trees in our neighborhood, and it is likely that many branches will come down, perhaps causing power outages. We’re thankful to have “Irma,” our generator, standing by.
