Milton is on its way, but the worst of the storm will pass well to the south of us. We will be spared the 100+ MPH winds, probably more like 30-50 MPH here, but a lot of rain is expected. Fortunately, we are on high ground and fared very well 20 years ago when multiple hurricanes dropped 20 inches of rain in about a week, so we’re not concerned about our home flooding.
All preparation is complete, we have full tanks of gas, plenty of food and water, and our generator is working well. Hope we have little need for those preparations.
Morning Update:

Updated wind predictions from about 6:30 AM today. In Ocala we are expecting 23-28 MPH sustained winds with gusts 30-40 MPH range overnight, not bad; the rain has started. At Lake Alfred, where my daughter and her husband live, hurricane force winds with gusts up to 100 MPH are expected. Fingers crossed!
