A full rain gauge and a tree-littered driveway and yard greeted us the morning after Milton. But we had it easy, others had whole trees down in their yards.
Around the neighborhood, fallen trees and limbs broke a car windshield; fortunately, no homes were damaged. The power was out for 22 hours and our generator, “Irma,” performed flawlessly. Internet access came and went and wasn’t on reliably until this morning. Water was off line for about 12 hours, and we filled a five gallon bucket with pool water for flushing the commode. It worked just fine. Now we are under a “boil water” advisory, probably for two days.
The yard is practically cleaned up as of this morning, and friends came and removed the pile of brush we had placed next to to the street. This weekend our neighbor will blow the debris off our roof and pool screen and we will be back to normal.
Helene and Milton, two hurricanes in as many weeks. Dear Mr. Weatherman: Enough already!

we’re all very happy that you are virtually unscathed.

Yes. I think the world was praying for you all. Those tornadoes I saw on some posts were quite frightening and the lightning in others. Glad all is well . ❤️
