Fall Migration

Solar Telescopes In Yard

By night they rest in the shed, but by day, they look at the sun from whatever part of the yard is free of shadows from nearby trees. The telescopes even go through a migration. During spring, summer and early fall, they observe from the cement pad by the shed, but from late October to late March, they migrate slowly to the north, eventually ending up by the fence seen in this photo. It’s an amazing thing to watch as they trek north for the winter and south for the summer, counter to the migration of other critters.
