A young kangaroo is called a “joey” because it is a marsupial. This one seems quite far from home; perhaps it is on a pilgrimage to visit the nearby nativity scene. He appears to be enjoying being the little drummer joey, but I believe that the squirrel thinks that we are both nuts.
