A chipping sparrow tries to crash a goldfinch party.
The goldfinches had staked their territories and were feeding contentedly until another avian invader decided to crash the “party.” Some birdie words were exchanged, and the sparrow flew off to wait its turn while the goldfinches returned to their dining. I don’t blame them. Soon they will depart for breeding grounds in the north and will need all the fuel they can get for the long flight ahead.
