A Frowny Face Day

The pill organizer we ordered from Amazon to replace our worn out travel case turned out to be too large, clunky, and heavy. No problem, I thought, just return it through the UPS Store as we had in the past when necessary.

The Amazon website for returns threw me for a loop, however, when it mentioned using the UPS Store for just a one dollar fee if the items were in their original packaging, or if not the fee would be–how much?!? Then I noticed that it could be returned without charge through Staples. I guess it had been a while since we had returned anything to Amazon, thank goodness.

Off to Staples we went, but first, the car needed gas, so no problem, just go up 36th Avenue to “The Boulevard” where there was a RaceTrac station on the corner, fill up, and then take The Boulevard over to Staples. “You’re getting gas where?” my wife asked? The look on her face seemed to say: At least he thinks he knows where he’s going.

Sure enough, at the intersection there was the–Wawa station? “When did they change this from RaceTrac to a Wawa?” I asked aloud.

“It’s always been a Wawa,” she replied. I assured her that I had gotten gas here once and… oops, it suddenly occurred to me that I was making things worse for myself, not better.

We had already crossed The Boulevard and were headed north. “Well, we’ll just take the scenic route to Staples. It’s only a couple of miles out of the way,” I added, as we turned left onto NE 14th Street and traveled through a dilapidated section of town that was not quite old enough to be called “historic.”

We finally made it to Staples with the ruffled feathers slowly settling back into place. There we were efficiently and courteously taken care of and soon were on our way to a real RaceTrac for gas. After filling we made one more stop at our pharmacy to look for travel pill cases. We took a lovely, self-guided, misguided tour of the store but found nothing to suit our needs.

At home I went back online to Amazon to find more appropriate pill containers for our needs. I’m pretty sure that we found what we wanted this time, but if not, I do know that I won’t be stopping for gas on the way back to Staples
