Offline

We have high-speed internet, except when it is slow or when it is offline. Fortunately, we have lived most of our lives without internet and know how to function without it if we have to. In some ways it is ok, no TV, no depressing news, just time to think and converse. Not so bad.

However, our provider has been advertising that someday with their “super-speedy” internet connections it may be possible for surgeons to operate remotely online. Well, good luck with that. I can imagine being in the middle of robotic surgery and hearing, “We better clamp off that bleeder…” and then having the above message suddenly appear on the router.

For better or for worse, all bleeding eventually stops, or so I’ve been told.
