Clouds dropped rain to darken the sky, but lovely turquoise and azure hues still beamed with colorful magic from the waters of the Bora Bora lagoon. In sunny weather it would be even more jaw-dropping.
A ferry took us through this mesmerizing lagoon to the town of Vaitape, for there are no roads from the airport to the main island. There we met friends that we had not seen for nearly three years, and the joy of the reunion was even more magical than the colors of the lagoon.
