We had been looking forward to dining in one of our favorite restaurants in French Polynesia, if not in the whole world. Signs filled on both sides with names of actors, singers, world leaders, and other celebrities still lined the entrance, but the interior seemed disheveled and in decay. It had the appearance of tragedy in the making.
However, on the opposite side of the road along the water, new buildings and bungalows were under construction, and I have been told that once that is done, Bloody Mary’s will be restored to its former glory as part of the new resort. In the meantime, however, being unable to dine there as hoped, I can only savor the memories of the past and hope that it will bloody well open again before our next visit to Bora Bora.
