Rain Ration

Expended Rain Cloud

It’s been a dry year; even during the rainy season we have had only one or two days with any measurable precipitation per month. This day we received just enough of nature’s rain ration to dampen the driveway and yard, but not enough to register in the rain gauge, let alone satiate the thirsty Earth.

Though glorified by the setting sun, this decaying cloud could do little more than shrug its shoulders before disappearing into the darkness. Maybe tomorrow.
