Cardinal Direction

Birds at Feeders

After a brief “discussion” with a downy woodpecker on the seed cylinder at the right side of the photo, the cardinal wisely decided to head south to the feeder on the left. It’s best not to argue with a bird with a longer beak who spends the days pounding its head against a tree. Yep, when push comes to shove with a woodpecker, heading to the other feeder would be the best choice for the cardinal. In fact, if I were the cardinal, I wouldn’t even want to look at that little (wood) pecker.

  1. We’re still getting hummingbirds at our feeder.  The Anna’s Hummingbird winters over here.  I love my hummingbirds!DebbieSent via the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G, an AT&T 5G smartphone
