We nearly always see cardinals at our feeder one way or the other, but usually it’s the other. As much as we prefer their smiling faces, most of the time, they have their tailfeathers to the camera while watching for something that might want to make them into a meal. So, we simply endure their derriere while waiting for their faces to appear.
Oh well, I’m just glad that they always wear their “underfeathers.”
